Always inspect your order before signing for it

While we make every effort to ensure each order is processed correctly and shipped with care, on rare occasions and despite best efforts, orders may still arrived damaged or missing items. Please be sure to inspect your order thoroughly before accepting and signing for it. Responsibility lies with the customer once an order is signed for. If anything is incorrect or damaged, please call our store immediately.

Processing & Handling


Standard processing for orders is 2-3 business days. Processing times may vary.


When rush handling is available and selected (“rush my order”) on orders placed before 10:00 AM (CST) will be processed and shipped out same day. Rush orders made after 10:00 AM (CST) will be processed and shipped out the next business day.

Shipping Methods (Lower 48 states)

Free Shipping

A large number of items we sell will ship free to the lower 48 states. When we pay for shipping, we reserve the right to choose the most economical carrier.

  • Small items like parts will ship USPS
  • Medium size items including chainsaws, blowers and push mowers we ship UPS or FedEx Ground
  • Larger, heavier items will ship LTL freight

Customer Paid Shipping


For lighter weight items we offer the following UPS shipping options:

  • Ground
  • Second Day
  • Next Day
LTL freight to nearest terminal

For oversized or heavy items that cannot be shipped via UPS, we will ship your order via LTL freight to the customer’s local shipping terminal where it can be picked up.

Safford Delivery

Some items cannot be shipped UPS or Freight. These items will have to be picked up from our store or delivered using our in-house delivery service. Safford Delivery is a pay-per-mile service with rates of $2.00 per mile for orders that include an enclosed trailer and $1.75 per mile for all other orders. 

While our return policy covers items delivered using our Safford Delivery service, we do not offer refunds on the delivery charge itself.

Custom options

We understand that on occasion our shipping options may not fit a customer’s needs. In these instances the customer can call the store to discuss and purchase a custom shipping package. 


Remote areas

In rare instances, some zip codes will not be reachable by carrier and will require additional steps to ensure the items ordered can be delivered. In these cases, a Safford staff member will call the customer to discuss delivery options.

Certain items are not shippable

We are prohibited by the manufacturers from LTL shipping commercial zero turn mowers. We are prohibited by Gravely from LTL shipping any Gravely zero turn mowers, commercial or residential. 


Certain products may not meet California Air Resources Board (CARB) emission standards and therefore cannot be shipped to that state.

Hawaii and Alaska

We will ship to Hawaii and Alaska but we do not offer free shipping to these states.

International Shipping

We currently do not ship to locations outside of the United States.

Shipping products back to Safford Equipment

All items to be shipped back require a Return Authorization Number (RAN) prior to shipment. For complete details on returning items and how to obtain an RAN please see details on our Return Policy Page.
