Standard return policy

You may return a purchased item within 30 days of receipt for a full refund of the purchase price, with exceptions listed below.

Items not eligible for return

Cancelling an order

You may cancel any order that has not shipped or which is not a special order. Once an item has shipped to Safford Equipment or to the customer, it cannot be cancelled without incurring a 20% restocking fee. If you refuse an order upon delivery, it is subject to our our return policy. To request a cancellation, please call us at (877) 872-2417.

Repairing a defective item

If you discover product defects or your product not working property, Safford Equipment or the manufacturer’s service department will be able to assist you. The service center will provide repair and maintenance free of charge to a defective item under warranty.

Requirements for returning items

Products must be returned unused in their original packaging and with their original documents (manuals, guides,  etc).

Returned merchandise not covered by Route Package Protection will not be accepted without a Return Authorization Number (RAN). To obtain an RAN and receive specific instructions on how to return your item, please call us at 877-872-2417.

Refunds and exchanges

Refunds and exchanges will be credited to the original payment method within 10 business days of receipt of the returned item.

Shipping/delivery costs for returned items

Shipping charges and Safford Delivery charges are not refundable. If the item shipped free, the outbound shipping cost will be deducted from the refund. Customer is responsible for the cost to ship the returned item. Items too large to ship UPS must be returned via prepaid freight.

Refusing delivery

If a customer has an item delivered using our in-house delivery service (Safford Delivery) and refuses the order, the customer may initiate a refund for the items purchased but will be responsible for the delivery charge. We do not offer refunds on delivery charges.

Restocking fee

Returned items are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Damages that occur in transit

It is the customer’s responsibility to inspect the items prior to signing the delivery receipt from the carrier. Items reported damaged after a delivery receipt has been signed will require the customer to file a freight claim and arrange for the repair or return of the damaged item.

Filing claims for items covered by Route Package Protection

Safford Equipment partners with Route Package Protection to provide a simple, fast and comprehensive return  experience. Eligible orders are automatically opted in to include Route’s package protection by default. Users may choose not to include Route by selecting the remove button in checkout window.

1. Visit the Route Resolve Center (use the Route app or the web link in your order confirmation email). Download Route for Android or Route for iOS.
2. Enter your email and order number, then click next.
3. Choose the items you want to report an issue for and select the type of issue.
4. Provide more details about your situation.
5. Depending on your merchant’s options, specify your preferred resolution.
6. Get an order issue summary with information on what to expect next. You can check for updates anytime on the same page.

Returning items NOT covered by Route Package Protection

If you opted out of Route Package Protection or it was not eligible for the item(s) purchased, please call us at 877-872-2417 to obtain an RAN (Return Authorization Number) and specific instructions for how to return your item.

Please note that returned items not covered by Route Package Protection will not be accepted without a Return Authorization Number (RAN).

Noticeable damage

When the damage to the item appears obvious, customer should refuse delivery and call (877) 872-2417 immediately so that we can process the claims for a refund or exchange.

Concealed damage

On occasion shipping packaging may be damaged in transit, however the product will be undamaged. If you suspect concealed damage, notate “Possible Freight Damage” on the delivery receipt while the driver is present. This will ensure a smoother return process  if you later discover the product has been damaged.

All items to be shipped back and are NOT covered by Route Package Protection require a Return Authorization Number (RAN) prior to shipment. (How do I obtain an RAN?).

Once you receive an RAN from Safford Equipment, items can be shipped to:
